Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 April 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the WorldWhiz web application and related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by [Legal entity name] (“WorldWhiz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Important: Fill in
[Legal entity name],[Contact email], and[Jurisdiction]below before publishing. These Terms are not a substitute for legal advice; have them reviewed by counsel for your operating entity and markets.
1. Who may use the Service
1.1 Adults and parents. You may create a parent account and use account features only if you can lawfully enter into a binding contract where you live (typically if you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, often 18).
1.2 Children. The Service is designed so that children explore geography under a parent’s account. Children do not create their own logins. A parent or legal guardian must create the account and any child profiles (display name, avatar, learning progress, and preferences). By creating a child profile, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child, or that you have authority to act on behalf of the parent or guardian.
1.3 Anonymous browsing. You may use the public interactive map without an account. See our Privacy Policy for what is collected in each mode.
2. Description of the Service
WorldWhiz is an educational geography experience: an interactive world map and optional 3D globe, country discovery, optional quizzes, and progress tracking tied to child profiles under a parent account. Features may change over time. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial learning unless we agree otherwise in writing.
3. Accounts, child profiles, and security
3.1 Parent account. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password and devices secure. You must provide accurate registration information (including a valid email address for magic links and notices).
3.2 Child profiles. You control creation, editing, and deletion of child profiles. Display names and avatars should be appropriate and should not include unnecessary personal data.
3.3 No sharing of credentials. Do not share your login with people outside your household unless you accept the risk. You are responsible for choosing who uses the device while your session is active.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in violation of any law or regulation;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users’ data, or our systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service (including by automated scraping or excessive load) except as allowed by public search engines indexing public pages;
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others;
- Upload or transmit malware or malicious code;
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code or models except where applicable law forbids this restriction.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.
5. Intellectual property
5.1 Our content. The Service, including its software, visual design, text, and branding (excluding third-party materials described below), is owned by WorldWhiz or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
5.2 Map and geography data. The world map is built from geographic data (for example, simplified country boundaries derived from sources such as Natural Earth-style datasets and our own curation). Third-party data may be subject to separate licence terms; country names may reflect standard linguistic datasets. You may not redistribute bulk extracts of our processed map assets as a competing product without permission.
5.3 Limited licence. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service in line with these Terms. No other rights are granted by implication.
6. Third-party services
The Service may rely on infrastructure and service providers (for example, hosting and transactional email). Their use is described at a high level in our Privacy Policy. Your use of third-party services may also be subject to their terms.
Text-to-speech. Optional country-name speech uses your browser’s built-in Web Speech API. That processing occurs on your device as implemented by your browser and operating system; we do not operate a separate voice service for that feature.
7. Disclaimers
7.1 Educational only. The Service is for general geography learning. Borders, names, and representations on the map may reflect editorial choices and may not reflect all geopolitical positions. Nothing on the Service is professional, legal, or geopolitical advice.
7.2 “As is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
7.3 Availability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, updates, or events beyond our control may affect availability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- WorldWhiz and its directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service;
- Our total liability for any claim arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim (if any), or (b) [amount in local currency] (or zero if the Service is free).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.
9. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless WorldWhiz and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of others’ rights—except to the extent caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service or delete accounts that are inactive or breach these Terms, subject to applicable law. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, and governing law) will survive termination.
11. Governing law and disputes
11.1 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], excluding conflict-of-law rules that would apply another jurisdiction’s laws, except where consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
11.2 Disputes. [Describe dispute resolution: e.g. courts of [place], or arbitration clause if appropriate.] If you are a consumer in the EEA, UK, or another region with mandatory local dispute rules, those rights may apply in addition to this section.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide notice in a reasonable manner (for example, by email to your account or a prominent notice on the Service). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, where permitted by law.
13. Contact

14. Region-specific notices
United States. If you are a California resident, see our Privacy Policy for California privacy rights. If the Service is directed to children under 13, we rely on the parent account model and do not knowingly permit children under 13 to register independently; parents provide consent by creating and managing child profiles.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Our Privacy Policy describes legal bases, rights, and contact details for GDPR and UK GDPR. If you are a child below the digital consent age in your country, parental authorisation is required for information society services, consistent with how the Service is structured.
Australia. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, including how to complain to the OAIC if applicable.
Canada. Our Privacy Policy describes collection, use, and disclosure practices consistent with applicable Canadian privacy law.
Japan. Our Privacy Policy describes handling of personal information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), including cross-border transfers where relevant.
